Is Pick Up / Drop OfF available?

We will be offering transport services for guests who prefer to fly into the Alamosa airport via two flights per day from Denver. Guided services will be available to escort you to the Sand Dunes, Penitente Canyon, The Hot Springs, and other local experiences.

What Amenities are available?

We are constantly evolving, and currently provide a bath house with toilets and private shower. We also have two "outdoor showers" where we grow plants for regeneration of the landscape while you shower among them with the ceiling entirely open to the sky and surrounding views - dont worry, no one can see you!

We have created a "chill zone" where you can relax with cocktails on Moroccan pillows and hammocks under the shade of pergola built from reclaimed wood pulled from the beetlekill forest fires outside of the Valley. Near the campsites we have a shaded "cantina", complete with grills, cooking items, protected storage, and solar powered refrigeration space and charging points. There is a communal firepit as well as smaller more intimate fire rings at each campsite (please respect area fire bans when in place).

Are bespoke packages available?

We excel in creating customized packages for our group guests, please enquire directly for more information. We will be creating our own personally designed off-the-shelf packages in the coming months for the 2023 season which will highlight the best of the San Luis Valley. What do we need to bring to Dunes Desert Camp?

We currently have 2 legitimate safari tents straight from an African tent maker, and more on the way! We have 2 luxurious RVs available for those who desire to be less "exposed" to the elements, and several open campsites.

We can outfit anything and everything to make your visit more comfortable including additional tents, RVs, catering, and gear or you can book a BYO stay on the property where we will advise you what you will need to prepare for your wild experience near the Dunes. There is always a property manager, host, or guide available on site throughout your visit to contact for advice, assistance, or emergencies as needed.

Why don't you show group sizes?

At Dunes Desert Camp we personally curate and host each groups experience & specialize in hosting groups of up to 28 people in order to maximise our attention to your experience and your visit to the area.

We can accommodate any size or event on our private location so give us a call and we will help you get the most out of your visit to the area.

How private is the dunes Desert Camp?

The property is set up in three separate sections which ensure privacy for a variety of visitors:
2 private safari tents in a meadow with uninterrupted views of the great sand dunes,
4 campsite locations for your private group with access to the bath house and open-sky flower showers,
4 exclusive RV parking spots for any length adventure set up with a dump station, water, and bathroom access

Tell us about the property

The property is 320 acres of private Desert Wilderness only a 20 minute drive from the entrance of the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The property covers the Sabka region of the Dune field with long views over the Sage and Elk-attracting Grasses to the Forested peaks of the Sangre De Cristo & La Garita mountains.
